( Day 19 ) 23/4 - The most exciting day in London
krystle :
HAHAHA. I'm so excited to blog about this even before i really start. Okay.
Went to emirates stadium, took the tour and it was so nice! Like dream come true. Almost because I didnt get to watch a match there =( and can you believe it, they told us if we want to get tickets, we got to be on the waiting list with 70,000 other people. Some guy asked how long? The person said, 4 , 5 years? NUTs! but the new stadium was really nice and opposite you could see Highbury getting torn down. Pictures will be up up up later.
We spent a bomb there at the club store. Bought alot of things.. you'll be shock if we put the price tag here.
okay then we went to Leicester square again, hoping to find a comedy club that we so badly wanted to watch, but no! none in sight, last time so many now we cannot find. =(
then then!!! we passed by a huge stage setup, it was the premiere of Spiderman 3!! a lot of people were around the fencing and as usual, we kaypohs went to stand around too. then was guessing like since its premiere, the stars will come too. We waited for about an hour.. then....
the first car came to the red carpet.
It was Theo Walcott!!!!!! Hahaha. I went to Emirates stadium I couldnt see a single player. I had to go to a premiere? but anyway, he was really nice looking! He kept signing autographs for people at the other end =(
Waited about another 15 mins some stars came but all british celebrites so we didnt know.
Then Toby Mcguire came!! the spiderman star. hahaha. he looks so much better in real life and i got to shake his hand. by the time the crowd was all quite high then Kristin Dunst came! woah.. she's also much prettier in real life.
We left the place cos we got really tired of tiptoe-ing for more than an hour. we continued our search for the comedy club, but gave and went into a store called Superdrugs, its like the watsons but much classier. spent another bomb there. hahaa.
on the way home we were thinking..
What a night! Came to London and got to see the spiderman people. hahaha. best day.
then.. while waiting for the bus at Morden, a super cute guy asked,
" one question, why do you girls support arsenal?" (cheryl was carrying arsenal plastic bags)
" cos they're good! which team do you support then ?" , i asked.
" i'm a united fan"
then we argued.
lol.

( DAY 14 - 17 ) 18/04 - 21/04 BARCELONA~
krystle:
HOLA!!
my gosh, we've been so lazy to blog and internet access wasnt so fang bian for us either.
but for memories sake, I shall do a quick 4 days tour-diary here.
Day1 of BCN. 18/4
We got up really early to catch the morning flight to Barcelona, we were sitting EasyJet there. Its equivalent to TigerAirways, you got to walk up the plane yourself and stuff.
We reached BCN Airport about 2 hours later, they call it Aeropuerto. Everything was in Spanish! The feeling of Spain was finally real.... we were screaming like kids, SPAIN SPAIN!!!
Hahahhaa, we caught the aerobus(shuttleservice) that brings us near our hostel. Yes. We couldnt afford a hotel. The hostel was in the heart of barcelona, Placa de Catalunya.
BUT BUT, Barcelona had just way too many streets. when we got down, we were following some directions but still lost. Then we asked a lot of passerbys, but everyone spoke spainish we couldnt understand. So we got lost for about an hour and finally someone knew where we wanted to go... and finally after dragging our luggage.. we arrived.. Itaca Hostel!
PHEW. we got our room keys and we checked out the place..and it was super clean! far from what we thought. *pics will be up soon
we walked around the area to get use the surroundings. Still speechless then.. everything looked so beautiful. Went to Carrefour express and got some essentials.. like water! We were so amused by the 8L water containers they sold there that we just had to get one ourselves. 8litres!! went back quite early cos' super tired.. then one of our room mate from Paris gave us a beer each and went down to talk to the others. Everybody was super friendly :)
Then we conked out.
Day2 of BCN 19/04
We woke up early to find some breakfast. After that we went to a bus stop and saw the tourist off top bus. We didnt sit one in Paris nor London, so we decided to do so in Barcelona. we bought a two day ticket for 23euros and the bus brings us to all the tourist attractions.
The first one we went to was the Sagara Familia. Oh my gosh. got to be there to see it yourself. Its not complete for another 10-20 years they say. its a huge masterpiece.
We hopped onto the bus again and continued around, its so nice here!! The more we looked around, the more we couldnt bear to leave. Architecture was everywhere and so detailed.. even the floor tiles too.. almost everything was simply about art.
After that we went to Port Vell and then to the beach! It was so weird cos' its quite cold like 17'c but the sun is still shinning. To me the water was icy cold and there was still quite alot of people at the beach sun tanning. hahaha. Slept at the beach a bit, the best thing about europe now is that the sun doesnt set till like 8.30 or 9pm.. They have a lot of daylight! but shops here do close quite early too =/ but we had this one shop, they sold icecream and hot chocolate. ohmygosh, cheryl's hot chocolate was so thick that it felt like your just drinking melted chocolate, superb! we will nvr forget it. Now cheryl thinks milo is thin and plain. hahaha.
so in the night, we looked for a nice place to have a drink. The beer here is really cheap! I had a pint of san miguel that cost sg $4 and cheryl had vodka lime about $12. but her vodka was poured till half of the tall glass and they gave her a bottle of lime. how worth it is that!
cheryl was impressed she managed to walk back all the way to the hostel still stable. hahaha!
Day3 of BCN - 20/04
Woke up early cause we booked a bike tour! yes yes, which means we get to ride on a bicycle around Barcelona with a tour guide. Its super cool! But most of the places they brought us we already been there, but the feeling of riding a bike around barcelona was just so fun. the streets here are crazy though, its a mircale i havent seen any accidents.
after the bike tour, we went to have our lunch. tried something traditional there. called pacella i think. huge! eat until we were super full. by the time it was already 4 something. we hopped onto the bus to bring us to Nou Camp, Barcelona FC =D
Reached there an hour later at six. bought tickets to go inside the stadium and the players changing room and stuff. Its so huge the stadium!! then some tourists there were like cheering and reliving the moment of a match. so funny! but wah, i cant believe i was in Nou Camp can. The biggest stadium in Europe too holding 125,000 seats. we took some really funny fotos.
We were going back to the hostel then it hit us it was our last night. :(( really sad. and there was still about 7Litres of water to drink and Cheryl being her, didnt want to waste them. She asked me to drink and i refused cos i seriously dont like water, so! she tried to gulp it down herself.. when the water level didnt really make a difference she got sian. my gosh, seeing her like that how can I not be a friend and help right? So we played a hand number game, who lose has to drink a mouthful. We played until 2am and finally I believed we drank 3litres together. That made her quite happy. We felt really sick and bloated and slept immediately. Had to wake up an hour later to pee real bad.
Day4 of BCN 21/4
We packed our bags in the morning cos we needed to check out at 11am, left our luggage at the hostel and went to the famous Parc de la Ciutadella. Its a big park with museums, zoo all inside. It even has a small lake! We rented a boat to row and it was super fun cos the whole lake was filled with ducks, goose and adorable ducklings! There was a festival going on, some spiritual thing. So many people there were encouraging yoga and massages. The best was this tent, that had alot of naked people pictures and it was somesort of a resort whereby everyone is naked. no one wears clothes. Hahahha. So cool right? Singapore where got such thing?!
okay, then we went to our favourite Montebello to eat some pasta. Their servings were huge! Walked around to do some shopping but it was a Saturday so everywhere got really crowded and we were tired. Before we left we ate some waffles and I had my 4 scoops of icecream. It was simply delicious I tell you! We were really reluctant to leave. Everywhere we went was like Hola! gracias and stuff. Spanish! :)
in the end, we managed to catch the flight back to London in time. Seeing the view of barcelona from the plane at night was beautiful! At night on the plane, you can see the rest of the world light up, its so nice! and then two hours later, we're back in London again.

11:46 PM
( DAY 13 ) - OXFORD CIRCUS
krystle :
hellloooooooooooo.
woke up quite early around 9.30am, today was uncle jame's birthday so we had to come back by 6 plus for dinner. we dressed up and decided to head for Oxford St. Cause there got Primark!! (Its the cheapest shopping building in england (i think)).
We got out of the station and the first thing we saw was this HUGH Topshop building. Even thou students get 10% off there, everything was expensive. Like a skirt cost £25($75), maybe in sg is the same but just couldnt let go of our cash. hahaha. but cheryl eyed on a very nice piece but since we're still considering we'd thought we go back later, find primark first!
then we walked, and walked, AND WALKED.. :
"i think we're lost"
"yea shit.."
both sings my humps.
we were practically lost! couldnt find that Primark.. so cheryl then asked a florist for directions and we had to walk quite a distance.
When we reached, it was crazy!! Clothes on the floor, fitting room queue had at least 30 people in line, everywhere was a mess and couldnt walk properly and all. Managed to get some things and we hurry headed off.
We past by a bar that say serves fish and chips. Me and cheryl were almost going crazy that we've been in England for almost two weeks but we hadnt tried any fish & chips!
So we went in and ordered two plates...
They were good! Pictures later okay!.
we scotted off to marks & spencer to get uncle james a card & chocolates. The marks and spencer here is huge and looks so much classier than sg..
Went to a chinese restuarant for dinner to celebrate Uncle James birthday.
came home, packed our lugguage because......................
We're going Barcelona!

(DAY 12) - 16/4 HOME-LAZE.
krystle :
i miss Paris !! =(
We reached back to London Victoria much earlier than expected. Suppose to reach at 8 then go to Balham to wait for Auntie mary to fetch us. but since we reached around 5.45am, cheryl & i bought coffee and milkshake. we then sat down and started talking about old school times and work. v.funny :)
It was around 7.30am then we took a rail train back to Balham. We waited outside the supermarket, Sainsbury. then we saw a trolley there and started fooling around. hahaha. we took turns to sit inside and spin each other, what childlike fun. !
She came to pick us back, and we were slammed tired. Hurry went to bathe and I slept till almost 7pm. Cheryl did better, she woke up at 4. hahhaha. So today was a pretty useless one, did nothing much but check up on Barcelona on the net and typing all these posts.
Oh ya I just remembered we didnt get any chocolates from Paris at all !
So saddening can.

3:22 PM
( DAY 11 ) - 15/4 PAH-REEEEE
cheryl :
BONJOUR !
The ferry took us across the English Channel in a one-and-a-half hour journey. inside there were lounges with seats and couches for us to rest, a bar n food stand, international foodcourt, convenience store, money changer and arcade! so cool right? first time i've been on board this type of ferry. we reached paris at about 8, where we took the metro to the Louvre Museum.
the funniest thing happened when we came out of the metro la! the museum is directly opposite the metro exit, and to get to it u must cross a road right, and gang gang hao there was a marathon in progress and zillions of runners on the very road that we had to cross! there was no other way to get to the museum.. and so difficult to cross! from the looks of it, there was a whole line of people that wanted to cross the road too but were trying to figure out how. so after a long time of feeling paiseh we sucked up the guts to just chiong across when we saw a gap in the runners haha!
the Louvre museum was simply huge. it was the place where they shot the Da Vinci Code. there was the huge glass pyramid which looked so stunning, and inside the museum there was the inverted pyramid too. which kept reminding us of the movie. we saw eygptian aritfacts, roman sculptures, and the Mona Lisa! i still dunno why the Mona Lisa is so bloody famous, Krystle says it's because she has no eyebrows... anyway we didn't have the chance to finish touring the whole museum because of the lack of time and my hunger. so off we went to Notre Dame.
when we got off the metro near Notre Dame, there was this pet market right outside the exit selling so many kinds of flora and fauna! there were lots of birds, hamsters, rabbits, mice and even chinchillas. krystle spotted a rabbit that looked exactly like the one Xiaxue got for her friend's birthday, and it was UBER adorable. she wanted to buy it and bring it home! but sadly the hassle and cost of bringing it back to s'pore is too much.
the Notre Dame cathedral was huge and the famous stained glass windows were breathtaking. no picture can compare to seeing the actual thing.. at the cathedral u can light a candle to pray for 2euros.
then we walked around the street next to Notre Dame hunting for crepes, which i insisted on trying. finally bought a ham-mushroom-cheese crepe which was YUMMY (and huge) and krys got a nutella-banana one. u must try the crepes if u ever go to paris! after that we went to Louis Vuitton to get the bags krys promised to help her cousin buy. then we headed to the Eiffel Tower.
we wanted to go up to the Eiffel Tower only when it got dark cos it's so much more beautiful. and the sun would only set at 8 so we had time to kill. after getting some icecream, we went to the park nearby the Tower, and many people were just sitting or lying on the grass (which looked v clean), enjoying the uncharacteristic warm weather. so cool can! in singapore only the bangalas lie on the grass lor.. so we lay on the grass too cos we were damn tired from the lousy coach ride and promptly fell asleep. the best part about just relaxing there was the view of the Eiffel Tower, right in front of us so grand and majestic. we could still hardly believe we were looking at the real thing.
we had dinner in a nice cafe by the street where krys had the set meal (egg mayo for starters, chicken, and gigantic chocolate mousse) and i had fab french onion soup! we ordered a one-litre bottle of mineral water that cost 6.50euro ($13) which krys still cannot get over haha. eventually we made it to the Eiffel Tower just as the sun set and we took the elevator to the second floor, cos to the summit would take much longer cos the queue was long. the view from the Eiffel Tower was just beautiful. indescribable. we could see the river and all the buildings to the end of the horizon.. and at night the Eiffel Tower lights up with megawatt brilliance! the lights keep flashing so it looks as if the whole tower is sparkling. of course we took lotsa pictures =)
after the Eiffel Tower there wasn't much time so we went directly back to the metro and returned to where the coach had dropped us off in the morning. and that's the end of our Paris adventure!

12:37 PM
(DAY 10) - 14/4 Off to Paris
krystle & cheryl:
Woke up in the early afternoon, ate some breakfast and then headed out to Balham. Auntie Mary wanted to show us an alternative route to come back in case if there was a strike in the tube stations.
Went to a Chinese Oriental Supermarket. We were so happy to see Yeo's drinks there and chinese food! We bought vitasoy and american ginseng and lychee drink! So happy drinking our drinks, then headed back home for lunch & dinner.
We packed our bags and headed to Balham station to take the rail to Victoria Station. We bought baguettes from UpperCrust to satisfy our hunger on the bus. Then went to Boots to walk around and got some lotion. Walked to the coach station to catch the bus to Paris. Long ride about 9 hours.
The coach was quite empty but the seats were not very comfortable to sleep. So we lie around stucking our legs on other seats too. Around 1am , we reach Dover ( sth like woodlands checkpoint) but in this case its much cooler. After the inspector came up to check our passports, the bus went up the ferry!!
There were many huge ferries shuttling between England and France. So many coaches and cars boarded the ferry too. We could get down, and the ferry was like a cruise! there were lounges, foodcourt, jackpot slots room, arcade and stuff. But we were too tired to enjoy all this, after all its 3am. Reach france port at 5am then we boarded the bus back again and off to Paris!
